About Dr. Rajagopal
Dr. Leena Rajagopal is a double-board-certified psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry. With a diverse background in clinical care, forensic psychiatry, and medical education, she brings extensive expertise to Elevium Health.
Dr. Rajagopal first completed her psychiatric training in her home country, India, before immigrating to the United States, where she completed her General Adult Psychiatry residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Elmhurst Hospital Center. Recognized for her leadership, she was selected as chief resident in her final year. She then pursued a Forensic Psychiatry fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, further deepening her expertise in the intersection of mental health and the legal system.
Following her training, Dr. Rajagopal served as Director of Forensic Services at NYC Health + Hospitals, Elmhurst, where she oversaw the clinical and administrative operations of forensic psychiatry services. She also played a pivotal role in curriculum development, clinical training, and mentorship for psychiatry residents, psychology interns, and medical students. She continues to be actively involved in forensic psychiatry training while providing care for forensic patient populations in New Jersey and New York State Hospital systems.
