Esketamine (Spravato) Therapy
Spravato For Depression in New Jersey
Spravato (esketamine intranasal spray) is a novel treatment for depression, specifically treatment-resistant depression. Depressive symptoms can crucially inhibit daily functioning and reduce our quality of life. For some, these symptoms can be challenging to alleviate with traditional therapies. In these cases, innovative treatments that are supported by rigorous research and scientific findings offer a promising, life-changing possibility.

Why Choose Spravato?
Spravato is FDA-approved as a mental health therapy for treatment-resistant depression. It is a nasal spray that uses the active ingredient, esketamine, to modulate neurotransmitter systems associated with depressive symptoms. Esketamine is a molecule derived from ketamine and is a separate treatment method from ketamine therapy. Spravato can be an attractive alternative to ketamine therapy for clients seeking rapid relief from hard-to-treat depressive symptoms and prefer minimally invasive techniques.
The outcomes of Spravato have been thoroughly researched and demonstrate its effectiveness and ability to provide rapid relief for depressive symptoms, especially suicidality.
How We Conduct Spravato
Elevium Health is a Spravato REMS-certified treatment center. Spravato treatment involves several sessions structured by a protocol in line with official health regulations, empirical evidence, and your personal needs.
A general treatment plan involves 2 sessions per week for the first 4 weeks. For the following 4 weeks, session frequency decreases to once a week. After this, maintenance treatment usually consists of one session per week or every two weeks.
Spravato is self-administered by the client under the supervision of a qualified health professional in our treatment rooms. Some side effects are possible due to the nature of the active ingredient. These may include dizziness, temporary dissociation, and fatigue. To ensure the safety and wellness of our clients, there is a monitoring period of 2 hours following each session. During this time, clients can relax in our zero-gravity chairs while listening to music with calming effects, using specific frequencies and rhythms. We provide modern facilities to create a safe, comfortable space to attend your treatment sessions.
Payment Options
Spravato therapy may be covered by insurance, particularly for treatment-resistant depression. Elevium accepts most major insurance plans, and our team can assist with verifying coverage and discussing financing options. However, if your insurance provider does not cover Spravato treatment, out-of-pocket options are available.
Please note out-of-pocket fees can be expensive. Ketamine therapy can be a more affordable option and is a promising alternative to Spravato in the treatment of depressive symptoms.

How Is Spravato different from Ketamine?
Spravato is a nasal spray that uses esketamine, a derivative of ketamine. It’s FDA-approved for treatment-resistant depression and is covered by many insurance plans. Unlike IV ketamine, it is administered intranasally and must be done in-clinic under supervision.
What conditions do you treat?
We specialize in treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, and treatment-resistant conditions. We also offer support for mood disorders, trauma, and stress-related concerns.
What types of therapy do you offer?
We specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. Each approach is selected based on your individual needs and therapy goals.
Am I a candidate for TMS?
TMS is often recommended for people who haven’t found relief with antidepressants or therapy. If you have depression, OCD, or anxiety and want a non-medication approach, TMS may be a fit. Take our quick quiz →
